2014 marked the 30th anniversary of Transformers as well as the 60th anniversary of China Construction Bank (CCB). In June 2014, China Construction Bank launched a set of new Dragon credit card with inspirations from Hollywood’s blockbuster Transformers 4: Age of Extinction. Camsing Global successfully implanted CCB’s brand in the movie, raising CCB’s profile and strengthening its soft power with the help of the influential Transformers brand and the popular movie.
CCB’s brand implantation was the most comprehensive crossover collaborating and marketing case in the past five years. The whole process includes preparations in mid 2013, product implantation, peripheral product design and production and promotion through new media and offline campaign. The product implantation in Transformers 4 is the highlight of innovative marketing: the robot investigated around the ATM machine and the logo of CCB and CCB credit card revealed in a 3-second shot, naturally integrated with the plot.
CCB seized the opportunity and launched the new Transformers theme Dragon Credit Card, as the first to integrate movie elements in credit card products. Brand authorized and exquisitely designed credit card and sophisticated peripheral products strengthen the brand’s impact on customers.
In addition to facilitating the product implantation in the movie Transformers 4: Age of Extinction and movie image licensing for credit cards, Camsing Global also independently designed and developed the movie related products, including Transformers cell phone shells and patented matching pothooks.
